Cam’Ron Says J. Cole Is Cool If Rapper Continues “Ready 24” Lawsuit

Rapper-turned-podcaster Cam’ron said the “Ready 24” lawsuit he filed against J. Cole over compensation connected to the mixtape Might Delete Later has effectively been resolved, addressing the issue during a recent episode of his Talk To Flee podcast.

Speaking on the April 1 installment, the Harlem rapper pushed back on speculation that the legal action was fabricated to generate attention around a widely circulated interview with Cole. Cam’ron insisted the dispute was legitimate and publicly documented.

“The lawsuit is public record. You can go Google the lawsuit, it’s public record,” Cam’ron said. “Some people said after they seen the intro, ‘Oh the whole lawsuit is fake.’”

The dispute involved Cam’ron’s alleged compensation related to Cole’s track “Ready 24,” which appears on Might Delete Later. The project earned significant industry recognition and sparked discussion after Cam’ron claimed he had not been properly paid for his role tied to the record.

Despite filing the complaint, Cam’ron indicated the legal fight was never intended to escalate into a prolonged court battle.

“I’m happy that we kept everything out of court,” he said. “I wasn’t planning on doing no lawsuit anyway — even though I did it.”

Cam’ron also described a conversation with Cole before the interview aired, explaining that the North Carolina rapper remained open to continuing the legal dispute if Cam’ron wished.

“I like how when we first talked about him coming to do the interview, he said, ‘Listen man, if you want to keep the lawsuit thing going on, cool. It ain’t no problem. I just want to keep my word and do what I said I was going to do,’” Cam’ron recalled.

Cam’ron said that exchange confirmed the dispute could end without further litigation.

“If you doing the interview, I ain’t going to file no lawsuit,” he said. “I never really wanted to file no lawsuit. It was more about just us trying to get everything done.”

When asked by a co-host whether the case remained active, Cam’ron suggested the matter had reached its conclusion.

“So yeah, that’s a dead issue,” he said.
