Zendaya knows just how invested fans are in her relationship, but that doesn\u2019t supersede the fact that she wants to maintain some level of privacy in her personal life.<\/p>\n

The actress and her The Drama<\/em> costar, Robert Pattinson, appeared on an episode of The New York Times\u2019 Modern Love podcast<\/a> released on Wednesday, April 1.<\/p>\n

During their interview on the relationship-based podcast, Zendaya opened up about why she hasn\u2019t confirmed or denied her rumored marriage to Tom Holland. Though the pair went public with their engagement in January 2025, Z\u2019s longtime stylist Law Roach claimed a month ago the pair secretly got married\u2013which neither party has directly commented on.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just feel like for me there is a level of a parasocial investment in my personal relationship, which I understand,\u201d Zendaya told Modern Love<\/em> host Anna Martin. \u201cI\u2019m aware that I\u2019m a public person and so is he, and I\u2019m also aware that we\u2019ve grown up in front of people and we\u2019ve done movies where we fall in love with each other, so I really do understand that, and I don\u2019t want to dismiss that like, \u2018Stay out of my business\u2019 or whatever.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She continued, \u201cIn a lot of ways, I\u2019m also a very private person and I try my best to be able to have things for myself and for him as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The actress went on to explain that she and Holland are not trying to \u201chide [themselves] from the world,\u201d but rather, trying to \u201cpreserve things\u201d for themselves in order to \u201cmaintain that joy\u201d between the two of them and their families.<\/p>\n

Zendaya, who has been further fueling the marriage speculation by wearing a wedding band, insists that she gets why there\u2019s a lot of public interest in her relationship, but she still refuses to share some details with fans.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hear it, but I also [have] my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and talk about, but then also what I\u2019m also willing to share, you know?\u201d she said. \u201cI just try to find the balance in the middle there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite wanting to keep more intimate details of her relationship under wraps, Zendaya did get deeper about their connection during the podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew this is my person because I don\u2019t feel nervous around them,\u201d she explained. \u201cI feel really peaceful, and I feel really calm like, oh, I actually feel more nervous when I\u2019m away from you than when I\u2019m with you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While talking about how she \u201cfirst met\u201d Holland at an audition, Zendaya went on to say, \u201cI was pretty nervous anyway, but he did make me feel calm\u2026 Just by being a nice person, you know? By making me feel comfortable. I mean, it\u2019s like having to do a chemistry read for a big movie like that. It\u2019s like, oh, you really want the job, and all these kind of things. And yeah, he was really lovely then.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She gushed over Tom further while talking about growing up with one another, referencing the fact that they first met while auditioning for 2017\u2019s Spider-Man: Homecoming<\/em>, going on to reprise their roles in 2019\u2019s Spider-Man: Far From Home <\/em>and 2021\u2019s Spider-Man: No Way Home<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like I\u2019m biased because I\u2019ve been able to grow up with the person that I love and get to know them through being literally a teenager to now,\u201d Zendaya said of knowing Holland for nearly a decade. \u201cSo it\u2019s like, of course we\u2019re going to change and we\u2019re going to grow and life is like whatever, but I still feel like there\u2019s a bond or a connection that you feel like you know someone, at least enough to feel safe with them.\u201d<\/p>\n
