Four police officers were killed in an ambush on a rural highway in\u00a0Escuinapa, Sinaloa yesterday morning, marking the third time Escuinapa police forces have been attacked in 2026<\/p>\n

The armed attack occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, when the agents were patrolling on the Mazatl\u00e1n-Tepic highway, near Tecualilla de Escuinapa. Four officers, including the regional subcommander, were killed at the scene, with another police officer being severely injured and taken to a hospital.<\/div>\n

This is the third time Escuinapa police forces have been attacked in 2026, reported Noreste<\/i>.\u00a0In early February, armed men threw explosive devices at the Municipal Police station, injuring two people.\u00a0 On January 9 of this year, State Preventive Police officers traveling on the Mazatl\u00e1n-Tepic highway were attacked with a drone dropped IED.<\/p>\n

Yesterday’s massacre means with 9 dead, Sinaloa now ranks 3rd nationally for slain police officers in 2026, after\u00a0Jalisco (29), and Morelos (10).<\/p><\/div>\n
