{"id":6415,"date":"2026-03-27T14:04:06","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T14:04:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/westcoastaftershock.com\/wca\/2026\/03\/man-accused-of-stealing-beyonces-unreleased-music-declines-plea-deal\/"},"modified":"2026-03-27T14:04:06","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T14:04:06","slug":"man-accused-of-stealing-beyonces-unreleased-music-declines-plea-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westcoastaftershock.com\/wca\/2026\/03\/man-accused-of-stealing-beyonces-unreleased-music-declines-plea-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Accused of Stealing Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s Unreleased Music Declines Plea Deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbls.com\/news\/atlanta-man-accused-of-stealing-beyonces-unreleased-music-pleads-not-guilty\/\">The man accused of stealing unreleased Beyonc\u00e9 music<\/a>\u00a0from one of her choreographer\u2019s cars in Atlanta has rejected a plea deal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/atlanta\/news\/man-beyonce-songs-theft-atlanta-plea-deal-trial\/\">CBS News<\/a><\/em>, Kelvin Evans, appeared on video in a Fulton County courtroom on Wednesday morning and declined the deal with prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m ready for trial now,\u201d Evans said.<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-backstory\">Backstory<\/h5>\n<p>On July 8 2025, Evans allegedly broke into a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer belonging to Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s choreographer, Christopher Grant. Investigators say\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5atlanta.com\/news\/unreleased-beyonce-tracks-suspected-thief-caught-using-flock-cameras\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Evans took two suitcases containing hard drives<\/a>\u00a0from the rental vehicle that was parked on Krog Street.<\/p>\n<p>The Jeep was broken into while Grant and fellow dancer Diandre Blue went out to eat. When they returned about an hour later, they found the back window smashed and several suitcases gone.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say the stolen items included two MacBook laptops, Apple headphones, luxury clothing and accessories, and hard drives that reportedly contained unreleased Beyonc\u00e9 material.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives reviewed surveillance videos from the garage, lifted fingerprints, and used location pings to track electronic devices. In a 911 call later released by police, one of the victims said the missing computers contained \u201creally, really important information\u201d tied to a high-profile client.<\/p>\n<p>Evans was released on a $20,000 bond in October 2025 after initial booking in the Fulton County Jail.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Evans faces a maximum of six years in prison if convicted. The plea deal offered would have allowed him to serve five years instead.
