Music mogul Ja\u00ff-Z says he has grown uneasy about rap battles in modern hip-hop, citing the fallout from the high-profile feud<\/a> between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with GQ<\/a><\/em>, the Roc Nation founder reflected on the role competitive rivalries play in today\u2019s music culture. The billionaire artist acknowledged that lyrical battles have long fueled creativity in hip-hop. However, he said the digital age has intensified the hostility surrounding them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe love the excitement and I love the sparring and the music you get,\u201d Ja\u00ff-Z said. \u201cBut in this day and age, it\u2019s so much negative that comes with it that you almost wish it didn\u2019t happen.\u201d<\/p>\n
