Rising in the late 1980s as a member of I.M.P., Cougnut helped shape the raw, unfiltered sound of Bay Area hip hop before it reached the mainstream.<\/p>\n<p>Known for his unmistakable raspy voice and vivid, street-driven storytelling, Cougnut\u2019s lyrics painted pictures of life, struggle, and survival in a way few others could.
