Kerry Washington<\/strong> stopped by<\/strong><\/a> the Call Her Daddy<\/em> podcast, and things turned nostalgic (and spicy) as she recapped her Scandal <\/em>smithereens scenes with Tony Goldwyn and addressed buzz about Chase Infiniti and Tyriq Withers playing Olivia and Fitz\u2019s kids in a potential revival.<\/p>\n

Washington reflected on playing the iconic Olivia Pope, the fiercely powerful political fixer who, of course, had that unforgettable romance with President Fitzgerald Grant, played by Tony Goldwyn. She also came clean on whether there would ever be a reboot of the hit show starring her rumored \u201cchildren,\u201d Chase Infiniti and Tyriq Withers.<\/p>\n

Kerry Washington called Tony Goldwyn to reflect on their steamy romance scenes on \u201cCall Her Daddy<\/strong>\u201c<\/h3>\n

As she looked back on her time on the Scandal<\/em> set, she spoke about how meaningful it was to portray such a strong female lead, while also acknowledging the show\u2019s famously steamy scenes. Things took a hilarious turn when host Alex Cooper suggested Washington call Goldwyn mid-interview to reminisce about their hottest on-screen moments.<\/p>\n

Before making the call, Washington shared her personal favorite at the 19:22 minute mark:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the hottest Olivia and Fitz moment was the first time we got to go to Vermont,\u201d she said of the episode directed by Ava DuVernay. \u201cI just think that house was so beautiful, the helicopter landing on the lawn, I think that whole moment was beyond dreamy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Then came the real fun, Washington dialed Goldwyn live. Caught slightly off guard, he answered with:<\/p>\n

\u201cShould I say, \u2018Uh-oh?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Kerry Washington replied, \u201cYeah, you should always say \u2018Uh-oh.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

From there, the two jumped right back into their scandalous highlight reel. Goldwyn brought up one particularly wild scene involving \u201chaving sex in an electrical closet,\u201d while Washington added another memorable and steamy moment where they got it on while \u201csomebody was getting baptized.\u201d Reflecting on it all, she laughed, \u201cWe were such bad people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goldwyn, however, revealed his all-time favorite scene was a quieter (but still charged) moment in Olivia Pope\u2019s \u201capartment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Will there be a \u201cScandal\u201d reboot with her \u201ckids\u201d Tyriq Withers and Chase Infiniti?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Later in the episode, Cooper asked the question every Scandal<\/em> fan has been dying to hear: is a reboot happening? Washington gave a definitive no, but not without adding a little playful chaos to the mix.<\/p>\n

She brought up a long-running fan joke that actors Chase Infiniti and Tyriq Withers could pass as Olivia and Fitz\u2019s fictional children, a rumor she fully leaned into after snapping a selfie with them at the NAACP Image Awards in February.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is like the joke that will not die and I love it so much. They actually do, like she has my smile and Tariq has his smile. It\u2019s so absurd.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cooper chimed in, \u201cIt is kind of weird.\u201d<\/p>\n

Still, Washington said she was enjoying every second of it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe actually just started a family text thread,\u201d she revealed on Call Her Daddy<\/em>. \u201cTariq texted me yesterday and was like, \u2018Chase, I know you don\u2019t have Kerry\u2019s number, but now it\u2019s official.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Do I bring Tony into this text thread?\u2019 It\u2019s hilarious.\u201d<\/p>\n

And if a reboot did<\/em> somehow happen? Withers is already ready. In February, he told Refinery29<\/em> he would absolutely \u201chandle\u201d the role, channeling Olivia Pope\u2019s iconic confidence.<\/p>\n

As for Infiniti, who was honored alongside Washington at the Essence Women in Hollywood<\/em> event on March 14, she kept things a little more mysterious, saying \u201cwe\u2019ll see\u201d about a reboot. She also credited Washington for \u201cpouring so much love\u201d into her early career, something she says pushes her to \u201cwant to work harder.\u201d<\/p>\n

So no official reboot, but between the group chats, wild throwback stories, and fan theories that refuse to die, the Scandal<\/em> universe is clearly still very much alive.<\/p>\n
