This year\u2019s star-studded Oscars<\/a> show was a shenanigan-y spectacle buzzing with Sinners<\/a><\/em> hysteria, classic Hollywood glamour, and history-making moments like Michael B. Jordan<\/a> becoming only the sixth Black man to win Best Actor at the Academy Awards.<\/p>\n

Joining a short list of icons including Will Smith, Jamie Foxx<\/a>, Sidney Poitier, Forest Whitaker and Denzel Washington<\/a>, Jordan accepted his Oscar to a standing ovation on a night where Sinners despite only winning four of sixteen possible Oscars.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so honored to call you a collaborator and a friend, and you gave me the opportunity and space for me to be seen, and I love you, too, bro, love you to death,\u201d he said to frequent collaborator, Coogler, who was in the audience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI stand here because of the people who came before me,\u201d he continued. \u201cTo be amongst those giants, amongst those greats, amongst my ancestors, amongst my guys, thank you everybody in this room and everybody at home for supporting me over my career. I feel it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Other standout moments included emerging star Miles Caton<\/a> delivering the night\u2019s buzziest performance with his soul-stirring rendition of Oscar-nominated song, \u201cI Lied to You\u201d from Sinners<\/em>. <\/p>\n

According to Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a>, the performance recreated the film\u2019s most powerful scene alongside other stars from the movie, Shaboozey<\/a>, Raphael Saadiq, Eric Gales, Christone \u201cKingfish\u201d Ingram, Brittany Howard (whose \u201cPale, Pale Moon\u201d is also on the Sinners<\/em> soundtrack), and legendary ballerina, Misty Copeland<\/a>, who came out of retirement to provide the perfect punctuation to the show-stopping perfromance.<\/p>\n
