J. Cole Reflects On Kendrick Lamar-Drake Beef, Has ‘Genuine Love’ For Both

J. Cole is finally addressing the public feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. What started as a war of words over rap tracks turned into a year-long battle that ended with a lawsuit. Cole did throw his hat in the ring, taking shots at Lamar on “7 Minute Drill,” however, he ended up expressing regret for his involvement. He later offered Lamar a public apology during his set at Dreamville Fest in 2024. While many fans chose their side, Cole claims he still loves and admires both. “I got genuine admiration for these dudes,” he tells Apple Music‘s Nadeska Alexis in a new interview

“I got genuine love for these dudes,” he continued. Back in the 2010s, despite competing for spots on the Billboard charts, there was seemingly a sense of camaraderie between the trio. Cole says he hates how the public engaged in the beef, suggesting it might have heightened tensions between Drake and Lamar. “I hate how the world sh*t on either one of them in defense of the other…even saying it out loud is a little silly,” he added.
