Kankakee, Illinois Hit By Record-Breaking Hail Storm That Caused Fatalities
A massive supercell storm hit Kankakee, Illinois on March 10th, dropping hail the size of softballs. The National Weather Service reported hail up to 6 inches in diameter, which may have broken the state’s record set in 2014. Videos show car windshields completely shattered and streets covered in ice. The same storm system also spawned a tornado that tore through town.
