Uncle Luke Slams Nick Cannon & TLC’s Chilli Over Political Remarks

Miami hip-hop pioneer Luke Campbell, widely known as Uncle Luke, has weighed in on a growing political controversy involving entertainer Nick Cannon and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas of TLC.

Campbell, a longtime Miami activist and former mayoral candidate, addressed the issue in a pointed message shared online. His remarks followed reports tying both entertainers to views and activity linked to former president Donald Trump.

The Miami rap legend said his comments came from concern rather than hostility. He framed the conversation as a matter affecting Black communities rather than a typical celebrity dispute.

“Let the adult in the room speak,” Campbell said while addressing Cannon and Thomas.

“To Nick Cannon and Chilli, I say this with love but also truth,” he continued. “What you are saying right now, in my opinion, is completely wrong.”

Campbell stressed that his perspective reflects decades of advocacy in Miami’s Black communities. The 2 Live Crew frontman has long used his platform to challenge policies he believes harm marginalized residents.

Because of that history, he argued the discussion extends beyond political preference. He said it touches on policies and rhetoric that shape everyday life for many Americans.

Campbell then pointed to Trump’s record and cited actions he believes damaged Black communities nationwide.

He referenced efforts to restrict how schools teach Black history and race relations. He also criticized praise and pardons involving officers connected to the killings of unarmed Black men.

“This is not just politics,” Campbell said. “This becomes personal when policies erase history and silence voices from our communities.”

The comments surfaced as online scrutiny intensified around Thomas. Social media users circulated claims of Republican donations and conservative-leaning posts tied to the singer.

Some posts also highlighted controversial reposts referencing former first lady Michelle Obama, prompting backlash from fans.

Meanwhile, Cannon drew attention after a resurfaced interview with media personality Amber Rose. During the discussion, Cannon criticized Democratic Party history and repeated a claim linking the party to the Ku Klux Klan.

The interview clip quickly circulated online, fueling debate about celebrity influence in political conversations.

Campbell’s remarks added a prominent Miami voice to the broader national discussion.
