Scientists at Cortical Labs grew about 200,000 living human neurons on a microchip and trained them to play the 1993 game DOOM in under a week. The cells aren’t running the game like a computer?they get the game data as electrical signals and fire back commands to move and shoot. This is a major step up from their 2022 experiment where neurons learned Pong.
