Desiigner Arrested On Domestic Violence, Mugshot Surfaces

Rapper Desiigner was arrested this week in South Carolina on a third-degree domestic violence charge, according to local law enforcement authorities.

The Horry County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies took Desiigner, whose legal name is Sidney Royel Selby III, into custody Monday. Officials said the rapper was booked on the misdemeanor charge and later released Tuesday. Authorities have not disclosed additional details about the alleged incident.

Investigators also have not identified the alleged victim or described the circumstances that led to the arrest. The sheriff’s office has not indicated whether further charges could follow.

After his 2016 mega hit, “Panda,” Desiigner has been trying to make a comeback, releasing several songs in 2025. He released his latest song, “Relax,” on Tuesday (March 24). The South Carolina arrest adds to the rapper’s prior legal history.

In 2023, federal prosecutors brought charges against Desiigner following an incident aboard an international commercial flight. Authorities alleged the rapper exposed himself and engaged in indecent conduct during a flight traveling from Tokyo to Minneapolis.

Federal investigators said the conduct occurred in front of flight attendants and triggered an onboard disturbance. The case drew widespread attention after federal officials filed charges in U.S. court.

Desiigner later resolved the matter through a legal agreement. Court records show he completed 120 hours of community service, paid a $5,000 fine and accepted two years of probation.

Following that case, Desiigner publicly discussed mental health challenges tied to the incident.

“I was not okay,” he said in a statement at the time. “I had a chemical imbalance from medication and needed real help.”

The rapper subsequently stepped back from touring and public appearances while seeking treatment.

Authorities in South Carolina have not announced upcoming court proceedings tied to the latest charge. The investigation remains ongoing as officials review the circumstances surrounding the arrest.
