U.S. Latin has signed a global publishing deal with Kris R, one of the most prominent voices behind the Latin Trap movement. His most recent album, EL TRAP DE KOLOMBIA, saw massive success upon release, debuting at No. 1 on Spotify Colombia Top Albums, No. 3 on the Global Top Albums, and No. 5 on the US Top Albums chart and amassing over 1.5 billion streams. Building on his breakthrough moment, Kris R has collaborated with top-tier artists, including Ryan Castro, Blessd, Myke Towers, Ovy On The Drums, WestCol, and Hades66, among many others.
With his new album, the Colombian American artist has positioned himself as a key force shaping the next chapter of Latin urban music. Most notably, the single “EL TRAP DE KOLOMBIA” was written during WCM’s Fresco Sounds songwriting camp in February, alongside WCM’s Bullnene and co-produced with Jorge Milliano and Bryan Yepes. The songwriting camp brought together WCM and Warner Music Latina artists and songwriters to collaborate to generate songs at scale and deepen collaboration between WMG label and publishing teams.

Born in New York City and raised in Medellín, Colombia, Kris R (Kristian Rangel Betancur) broke through with viral tracks including “Polos Opuestos,” “Las Piponas,” and “Electrolibonbon.” He has since earned multiple RIAA Gold and Platinum certifications while charting across Spotify, YouTube, and Billboard in more than 17 countries, ranking among the Top 10 most-streamed artists in Colombia.
After signing with Warner Music Latina in 2025, he released his debut EP, Una Valija En Sentimiento, in partnership with La K Company USA. The project amassed hundreds of millions of streams, debuted in the Top 10 of Spotify’s Top Albums Global Debut chart and went Platinum in Colombia.
